In a couple days, we're staying at the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for my daughter's first time at WDW! It wasn't in our budget to book a Savana-View room. Any tips or thoughts on the chance of us getting a room upgrade?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Carly! I can’t wait to hEAR what a roarin’ good time y’all are going to have at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! I recently stayed in a Savannah view room this summer to experience the wonders of Pandora and having coffee “with” the zebras isn’t something I’ll soon forget!

I completely understand the budget issue! I save and scrimp all the time, dreaming about what extras I may be able to save for. Currently, I’m excited to treat my mom to the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian for her birthday next year. I would have your reservation number handy and call to speak to a Cast Member at (407) 939-1936 and ask if there are any available upgrades. You may be able to score a Savannah View for your trip. I would also check the special offers page to see if there are any applicable savings or offers that you can apply to your trip that may save you additional money.

If you don’t already have Memory Maker purchased for your trip, there is a $30 savings if you purchase it 3 days before your trip. I can’t tell you what memories each photo brings back for me, and with your first trip just around the riverbend, it’s an amazing value that will reap dividends. In the days before your trip, please let me know if I can assist you further. Til’ the Pridelands end, Lion Guard defend! ~ Lindsey P.
