Another couple and we will be celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday in Disney this year on November 10th. We'd like to go to a really nice dinner with no children, not too stuffy, fun atmosphere, good food. Upscale though! Ideas?

    Hi Kate!

What a wonderful event to celebrate!  I recommend visiting one of Disney's Signature Dining establishments for your special dinner.  Some of my current favorites that meet your "upscale food, but not too stuffy" specs include:

  • Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club - as you can guess this is a wonderful steakhouse, with fabulous cuts of beef, as well as fish, chicken and other specials.  It also has equally fabulous desserts!
  • Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge-   The food is amazing and the South African wine list is incredible.
  • California Grille at the Contemporary-  Many consider this to be the flagship signature dining experience at Disney, and it does not disappoint.  The menu is so fresh that it changes weekly.  A well-timed meal here will also enable you and your hubby to enjoy Wishes from the Magic Kingdom right at your table or on a lovely outdoor deck.
  • Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge- The Northwest theme of the incredible menu features a signature salmon dish that many rave about, game and a delicious filet.
  • Have a wonderful meal, and thank you to whomever in your party serves our country!
