Hi Christine!
Welcome to
planDisney. You must be so excited that your holiday is just around the corner. Let the final countdown to fun begin! Let's talk about transforming your inner tube into a coach and getting you from the water park to Fantasyland quicker than you can say, bibbidi bobbidi boo!
Christine, I checked the park hours for May and couldn't find a day when
Magic Kingdom Park closes at 6 PM. Generally, this theme park only closes early on a fall or early winter night when
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party takes place. Currently, closing time is listed at 9 or 10 PM most evenings in May. Park hours are subject to change, so monitoring the operating schedule as your vacation approaches is a good idea. Regarding your question, you would not be permitted to enter a theme park after closing, so if a
dining reservation coincides with the end of daily operations, make sure you are already inside the theme park well before that time.
I hope that's helpful. I'm excited to hear you'll enjoy
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park during your stay. My children and I spent a day here just last week and had so much fun. Since I'm fresh out of the water, I'll share a few quick tips for making the most of your time at this tropical oasis.
- Towels are available (and complimentary for Guests staying in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel) at Singapore Sal's, a souvenir shop near the locker rooms at the front of the park.
- Arrive early to secure a spot in the shade. The umbrellas and chairs near the Surf Pool are centrally located, but we prefer the less crowded area near the Crush 'n' Gusher. This is conveniently only steps away from the changing rooms.
- You'll work up an appetite scaling Mount Mayday, so treat yourself! My kids' favorites are the Mini Donuts and Sandpail Sundae.
- If you have younger adventurers in your party, complimentary life vests are available throughout the park. They're essential in the Surf Pool.
- When you want to kick back for a bit, take a few laps around the park on Castaway Creek. It's a relaxing way to see the park, and you're welcome to float as long as you like.
- During many times of the year, bus transportation to and from the water parks requires a transfer at Disney Springs. To expedite your commute and reach Magic Kingdom Park or your resort faster, consider using a ride share service or requesting a Minnie Van™ via the Lyft mobile app.
Have the best time on your visit, Christine! Thanks for sending your question to us at planDisney, and we look forward to welcoming you "home" very soon.
Have a magical day,
Betsy
