Hi Heather!
Dining at Walt Disney World Resort is quickly becoming it's own reason to visit the Most Magical Place On Earth, with Festivals dedicated to food, delicious desserts events and social media worthy treats. And thankfully
Disney Dining Plans are a great way to have a taste of what the World has to offer.
When looking at
dining menus online you'll see a drop-down below the location name that says 'Meal Period'. (When viewing menus in the My Disney Experience App these will be listed as tabs.) These options might be breakfast, snack, late night, etc, depending on each location. These categories not only help organize all menus a location may have, they also help all Walt Disney World Resort guests determine if the main offerings are hearty entree-plus-side meals, or if they are easy eating solo options. When a menu is in the 'Snack' category, it typically means that the choices can be purchased any time of day, and each could possibly be a meal, could be a treat, or could serve to hold you over when you get hangry.
As far as which items count as a snack entitlement on your Disney Dining Plan, once you get to Walt Disney World Resort each menu will have a purple and white checker-box logo next to the items that are meal plan eligible. The majority of items that count as snacks are in the $2 and $6.50 range. (Pro tip: to get an idea if something is on a Dining Plan, I like to run a dining location name through an internet search engine and view only the images of the results. Add the current year to your search for the most up-to-date info.) And lastly, there are plenty of
snack entitlement menu offerings that could be made into meals.
We'll See You Real Soon, Heather!
