On the counter service dining plan, what is included in the entree? Example: is a cup of soup and sandwich ok, or can you get a sandwich, fries and fruit? Can you get a salad and soup? Also is a dessert included? It used to be but a lot has changed.

    Hi Leslie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family recently splurged on the Disney Dining Plan, and we absolutely loved it!

The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan includes two Quick-Service meals and two snacks for each night of your stay for each member of your party who is age 3 or older. As part of the plan, each Guest aged 3 and older also receives a Disney refillable resort mug, which can be used at counter service locations in the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. For 2018, the plan offers expanded beverage options, including specialty drinks like smoothies and milkshakes, and alcoholic options for guests aged 21 and older. We really loved being able to enjoy these specialty drinks with our meals; it made the vacation feel all-inclusive.

Leslie, in my experience, what is included with the entrée entirely depends on where you are dining. At your Walt Disney World Resort hotel food court, you may find you have the choice of a salad, fries, or fruit cup with your entrée selection. At Quick Service locations in the theme parks, options will vary. One of my favorite Quick-Service restaurants is Satu’li Canteen in Pandora – The World of Avatar; at this location, your entrée is a build-your-own bowl where you customize the ingredients. When in doubt, just ask! The restaurant’s Cast Members will help you sort out exactly what is included at each location.

Currently, dessert is not included in the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. My family found that we were quite full from our meals, and then ready to use our snack entitlements for a sweet treat between meals. There are so many delicious treats to try and I thought having the Disney Dining Plan was the perfect opportunity to sample so many new things!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
