Hi Tami! Welcome to planDisney.
I see you are counting down to a
springtime visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! That’s one of my very favorite times to visit, because the theme parks and resorts are so beautiful with bright flowers, there are so many cool and refreshing beverages to enjoy, and the
Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full bloom. Can you tell I’m excited for you?
While there used to be a “See Ya Real Soon” visit countdown in the
My Disney Experience app, that feature was removed a few updates ago. I miss it too! But don’t worry, Tami – just like Mary Poppins, I have a few solutions inside my purse to help make your Disney countdown practically perfect in every way.
If you like your countdown to be electronic, a quick search in the app store will uncover lots of free countdown apps, some with Disney themes. I’ve currently got one going with a beautiful photo of
Cinderella Castle, and I smile every time I see those days ticking down and getting me one step closer to my beloved pineapple
DOLE Whip.
You can also purchase adorable keepsake countdowns. I’ve seen lots of styles offered at
shopDisney; right now they have a really cute
Up themed one. Etsy and other shops have them too, or you could plan to purchase one as a vacation souvenir during your visit – a Cast Member in a larger gift shop like
Emporium in Magic Kingdom Park or
World of Disney in Disney Springs could help you find them.
My family always creates a paper chain countdown when we’re about a month away from Mickey day. We divide up the links and each write down something we can’t wait to see, do, or eat, and then have so much fun taking down a link every day and reading that day's must-do out loud after dinner. It’s fun to see the chain grow shorter as our excitement gets bigger.
My fellow panelists have some wonderful countdown traditions and ideas, which they share in
this fun Panel Extra. I hope it inspires you and gets you so excited for your visit.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Tami! As you count down the days, I recommend reading the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates, ideas, and tips on the best food and fun around Walt Disney World. And, of course, please come back and see us if you have any further questions.
Wishing you a
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious vacation,
Robyn
