Hiya Mike!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your planning and cost question! I’m so excited you're considering a trip to Disney World—you’re about to embark on a journey that’s sure to be filled with magic, memories, and maybe even a few Mickey-shaped treats along the way.
Regarding cost, Disney really does offer something for everyone and every budget. So, let’s dive in on where to start. The first thing I always recommend is to build your vacation package. This is where the magic begins!
Step 1: Choose Your Resort
You'll start by selecting your Disney Resort and your travel dates. With over 25 themed resorts to choose from—from the adventurous vibes of Animal Kingdom Lodge to the charming, rustic feels of Fort Wilderness—you’ll find something that fits your style and budget. With three in your party, a standard room should work just fine, but feel free to explore room types that offer more space or unique themes (the Cars-themed rooms at Art of Animation—it’s like stepping right into Radiator Springs!). And don’t forget, all resorts include perks like early theme park entry and complimentary transportation throughout the resort.
Step 2: Pick Your Park Tickets
Next, you'll select how many park days you’d like. A standard ticket gets you into one park per day, while a Park Hopper ticket lets you bounce between multiple parks in a single day—perfect if you want to ride Rise of the Resistance in the morning and end your night watching fireworks at the World Showcase in Epcot.
Step 3: Add Extras (Like Lightning Lane or Dining Plans)
If you're staying at a Disney hotel, you’ll also get the chance to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass access up to 7 days in advance, which can help you wait on a shorter line than the standby lines for some of the more popular attractions.
You’ll also see the option to add a Dining Plan. There are two to choose from:
- Quick-Service Dining Plan (perfect for meals on the go)
- Disney Dining Plan (includes one table-service meal daily—great if you’re planning a character meal with Chip and Dale at the Garden Grill.
Last but not least, be sure to visit the
Special Offers page to see if there are any current promotions or discounts for your travel dates. Disney releases magical deals throughout the year, and you never know when one might make your vacation even sweeter. Just note, that these deals are subject to availability and can change anytime.
Mike, I hope this helped give you a clearer picture of how costs can be personalized to your preferences and priorities. You’re about to create memories that will last a lifetime—because Adventure is out there!
If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to stop by again.
See ya real soon,
Christina
