    What are the costs for the disney dining plans?

    Hello there, Sue. Welcome to planDisney. 

    Sue, the Disney Dining Plans are not yet available to add on to a Walt Disney World vacation at this time. They have not come back to use since the shut down last year. However, the Disney Parks Blog did release an article letting us know that there are plans in the works to bring the Disney Dining Plan back. This made a lot of people happy because it is such a fan favorite. At the time of the article, they just weren't quite sure of a release date. I've been keeping my eyes peeled over on the Disney Parks Blog patiently waiting for another update. I don't think it will be too much longer, however. More and more restaurants are opening back up and we are slowly but surely returning to a world of magic. If the Disney Dining Plan does return before your vacation in December, I am certain you'll be able to add it on to your existing vacation package. Previously, Guests were able to add it up to 48 hours before their check-in date and I do think it will look similar to this in the future. 

    My family and I really enjoyed using the Disney Dining Plan when it was being offered, Sue. It was really nice having every aspect of a Walt Disney World vacation planned and paid for ahead of time. It took the stress off of looking at menu prices. It was fun to be able to say yes to the most expensive menu item and not even think twice about it. I know I am also looking forward to its return. Until then, Sue, I've been stocking up on Disney Gift Cards to use on dining during my Walt Disney World vacations. It is similar to the Disney Dining Plan in the sense that it's paid for ahead of time and has to be used for something at Walt Disney World. Disney Gift Cards can be picked up at most major retail stores. I like to grab a small dollar amount when I am grocery shopping. It doesn't add a lot to my bill but I am always amazed at how quickly they add up.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
