Hey Heidi-
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited for you and your band of adventurers. One day at any Walt Disney World Theme Park is better than any other regular day. You are going to have a blast at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and a great lunch at
Tusker House Restaurant.
There is a common thought that you have to do everything when visiting Walt Disney World Resort but when you rush it you miss a lot of special moments. Let’s remember your toddlers don’t move like adults and they need breaks in the entertainment. Lunch is a perfect solution. I would look to an 11:30 a.m. meal at Tusker House. Meals, even counter service meals, may last 20-30 minutes because you need downtime to rest your feet and regroup for the next wave of excitement. A character dining experience last about 60 minutes and accomplishes two goals: 1. eat and 2. character meet and greet. The meals maximize time for both. Instead of your three young adventurers waiting in line at the
Meet Favorite Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost, they get to sit down, chow down then get down to business with some combination of Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy at Donald's Dining Safari. WIn-Win! Character Dining experiences are a treasure for us as we get about 3-5 minutes with each character.
Disney Dad Tip: Have your autograph books open and ready for character signatures during the meals. Mickey and gang like this best and it gives more time for pictures or video if they don’t have to find a signing page.
Heidi, enjoy making and eating many Magical Memories!
