Hi Christina!
I have a special needs son who sounds very similar to your daughter. We have visited
Walt Disney World many times with him and we have tried many different things with him. My advice would be to rent an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) for her. You can do this at Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World Water Parks for $50 a day. There are some restrictions when you rent at these places, however. You cannot take the ECV out of the place where you rented it, which means if you are Park Hopping you will need to go through the process of renting a separate ECV at each Park you visit (you will not have to pay again, however... you can simply present your receipt from the first Park where you paid.) Reservations are not accepted at these locations, either (they are first-come, first-served basis) which means your ECV will not be guaranteed. We have decided the best thing for us is to book ahead with a private Orlando-area ECV rental company. There are several recommended by Disney and
listed on their website. These companies deliver to your Resort before you arrive and pick-up your unit after your trip is over. You can keep the same one the entire time, which eliminates the need to rent one every day. I like the convenience of renting from a private company. They make the whole process so seamless and easy!
Also, you will want to check into the
Disability Access Service Card at Guest Services when you arrive in a Park. It will make your time at Walt Disney World even more enjoyable!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Have a magical day!
