Hi Joanne! It sounds like you are heading to my favorite Walt Disney World resort.
Fort Wilderness is an exciting place to stay whether its in the cabins or in one of the campsites. It is also a fun place to explore for any guest at Walt Disney World.
Truly, the best way to get around and certainly the most fun, is to rent a
Golf Cart during your stay. The rental fee is $59 plus tax for one day. Most of these are four person but they also have a few 6 person carts available on a first come basis. It is wise to reserve one in advance especially during holiday times and weekends when the resort is full.
Enjoy riding throughout the resort property but remember to follow all the rules. Don't go the wrong way in the loops, stop for all bus traffic, stay on the paved roads, don't let children drive, and keep children safe with adults in charge. Although they are fun and convenient to use they are also a form of transportation. I hate to admit it but my husband dumped our grandson out of the back of one once because he started up too quickly. He was fine but thus I send words of caution to all thinking about renting a cart.
