Hiya Leonard!
Welcome to planDisney! I have a Disney Genie+ problem, Leonard. I just can't visit the Parks without purchasing it for at least one day. I think it's because I'm traveling from New York and want to maximize every moment I have in the Parks.
The price of
Disney Genie+ changes every day. It can range from $15 to even $39. The price increases during busy Park days. For example, the week of Christmas is usually a very expensive week for guests purchasing Disney Genie+. The price also fluctuates for each Park with Magic Kingdom Park always being the most expensive. This makes sense as this Park has the most rides with
Lightning Lane entrances. When you purchase Disney Genie+ you are obtaining the ability to book an hour block of time where you can enter the Lightning Lane entrance of an attraction. These Lightning Lane entrances tend to have a shorter wait than a regular Standby Line.
Something that is a bit different from Disney Genie+ and is a separate purchase is Individual Lightning Lanes. Each Park has one or more attractions a Guest can purchase an Individual Lightning Lane that is only able to be used to access that one attraction's Lightning Lane. Disney Genie+ will not give you access to those attractions Lightning Lanes. In Magic Kingdom Park, the two attractions that have an Individual Lightning Lane entrance are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run. The other three Parks have just one attraction each that utilizes Individual Lightning Lane. With Individual Lightning Lanes you can select your return time with precision while with Disney Genie+ you have to select a time slot based on what is available. It can be a bit confusing but you can keep track of everything you booked on your Tip Board on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. I strongly suggest you get familiar with the app before you arrive as there are so many tools within it to help make your trip a success.
No matter what, make sure you are ready to go before 7 AM as that is when your first booking for either Disney Genie+ or the Individual Lightning Lane (if staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel) can happen. I still have an alarm on my phone to wake up in time to book a Lightning Lane, Leonard.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions please free to
let me know!
Happy Planning!
