Is there a cost to purchase the genie+ after midnight on the day of our entrance into the park as well as a cost per ride? I’m still confused on how many lighting passes you can use per day? Is it 2 per day per ride but can only use 1?

Welcome to planDisney, Grant, where we try to "grant" your wishes for a fabulous Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Your trip will begin before you can say "Agrabah," so let's discuss the different options for using Lightning Lane entrances during your visit.

Lightning Lane entry is separate from the traditional standby queue at many attractions. As its name implies, the wait is typically shorter when you head down the Lightning Lane. You can access this special line in a couple of ways, so let's look at both.

First, you can purchase Disney Genie+ service after midnight on the day of your visit. You don't have to buy it every day you plan to visit a theme park, so you can pick and choose. When you head to your My Disney Experience mobile app to buy the service from the top of the Tip Board, you'll select your party and which park you'll use the service for. Then, at 7:00 AM, you can choose your first attraction. When your window opens to ride, you'll head to the queue marked "Lightning Lane Entrance." You'll feel like a VIP!

The price of Disney Genie+ service varies by day and park. When you purchase, you'll see all four theme parks listed and the cost for each that day. If you have the Park Hopper Option and plan to visit more than one park, you can pick the Multiple Parks option. To give you a general idea, Genie+ is $18 per guest at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park today; it costs $29 per guest at Magic Kingdom Park. But remember, those prices will vary daily.

With Disney Genie+ service, you can only select an attraction once per day, but the amount of rides you can use it for is limited only by availability and how you use the service. On busier days, an attraction might run out of return times, but you will typically be able to experience at least two to three attractions using Genie+.

The second way to access the Lightning Lane entry is to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes. These attractions are not included in Disney Genie+ service and can be bought separately. The specific attractions can vary, but the current offerings include TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and more.

You can purchase Individual Lightning Lane entry on the mobile app by heading to the Tip Board and scrolling to the ride. Today, an Individual Lightning Lane entry for TRON is $20 per guest and can be purchased in the app by tapping on the attraction. Keep in mind that pricing will vary for each ride and day.

Guests can purchase Disney Genie+ service and up to two different Individual Lightning Lanes per day. Both are entirely optional and independent of each other. With a bit of practice and experimentation, you'll find what works best for your Disney style!

Grant, I hope your vacation is as smooth as a magic carpet ride! Please stop by planDisney anytime because you ain't never had a friend like me!

    Magic awaits,
