what is the cost of magic band vs magic band +

Hi there, Marianne, and welcome to planDisney! From one Georgia girl to another, I'm just so thrilled that you're here today with this question about MagicBands! It sounds like you're counting down to an exciting vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, and now is the perfect time to think about all of the little details that will enhance your experience during your visit.

Marianne, I'm a big fan of wearing a MagicBand+ because it helps to streamline so many of the things I do during a vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. It can unlock my Disney Resorts Collection hotel room door, allow me to easily charge purchases to my room, use my dining plan meals and snacks, tap in for Disney Theme Park entry, and enjoy interactive experiences throughout the Disney Theme Parks. Not to mention, I don't have to take it off when I jump in the pool on a warm afternoon! MagicBands and the new MagicBand+ version have many similarities, and the main differences are that the new MagicBand+ is rechargeable and it allows you to interact with experiences in the parks with fun lights and vibrations.

It's important to note that the only MagicBand option available online is the new MagicBand+ and at this time, the price starts at about $30 for some of the on-sale designs, while the majority of designs are between $35 and $45. When you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, you might be able to spot some of the older MagicBand options at merchandise locations like your Disney Resorts Collection hotel gift shop and other stores within the Disney Theme Parks. These are subject to availability, so it's difficult to say the specific pricing.

If you prefer not to wear a MagicBand, or just want a reliable backup, go into the My Disney Experience Mobile App, view My Tickets and Passes, and choose to save your ticket to the wallet of your smart phone. This complimentary feature is called Disney MagicMobile Service, and it functions just like a boarding pass or credit card within your wallet - you can access it with a quick double tap!

Marianne, I hope this is helpful to you as you plan your vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you count down to your arrival!

    See you real soon!
