Hi Staci!
Thanks for your question. I always believe in getting the
Travel Protection Plan along with my
Disney World vacation. It just gives me extra peace of mind for that potential unexpected event that may potentially impact your Disney plans. A little added insurance can go a
long way in savings if something unanticipated were to occur..
I should note first that prices are always subject to change, but we are also a family of 4, and to add the
Travel Protection Insurance to our Disney vacation package cost $166. Now we are in the state of South Carolina, and prices may vary depending on your state of residence, but typically the insurance costs are nominal compared to the overall investment made towards a Disney vacation.
If you decide to go through a third party for your Disney vacation, I'm not sure if they would use the services of other insurance companies. Again, this is always subject to change, but at this writing, if you reserve your vacation directly through Disney, the Travel Protection plan is underwritten by an insurance company named Arch Insurance Company.
Hope this helps. Enjoy the
attractions, the
resorts, and sheer fun on your next Disney vacation!
Terry
