Does it cost extra to do the shark swimming at Typhoon Lagoon? Also, is there an age limit on this? Do you have to schedule a time to do it? Thanks so much!!

    Hi Ainsley,

My kids really love swimming in the Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon!  It's a great opportunity for them to get some snorkeling experience in a smaller environment.

There is no age limit for this attraction, but children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.  Also, you are required to swim straight across the reef, keeping your arms at your sides.  Parents need to use their best judgement on deciding if their children will be able to follow the guidelines and participate.

You don't have to schedule a time.  You just stand in line like you would for any of the other attractions.  The Shark Reef is included in your admission.

If you want to spend more time in the Shark Reef, there is a program called the S.A.S. (Surface Air Snorkeling) Adventure.  This is a 30 min. snorkeling experience where guest wear a small air tank and buoyancy vest.  There is an additional charge and participants must be at least 5 years old.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
