What is the cost for the Disney Vacation club? We just returned from a cruise on the Dream. Didn’t sign up for the club..will we get any credit for that cruise? How will it benefit us on the next cruise we take?

Ahoy, William, and Welcome to planDisney!

A sure sign of an amazing vacation is when you're ready to plan another trip as soon as you return home.  How cool that your recent voyage on the Disney Dream already has you thinking about your next Disney adventure!  And that's the best part of Disney Vacation Club Membership for my family –– knowing our Vacation Points will allow us to create magical Disney experiences and make memories together for years to come.  Whether we visit a Disney Vacation Club Resort, set sail with Disney Cruise Line, or vacation at Disney Destinations around the world, we have the flexibility to choose when, where, and how we vacation year after year.  For us, there's no better feeling than being "Welcomed Home" as a Disney Vacation Club Member –– I'm excited that you're exploring the magic of Membership for your family, too!

As a Disney Vacation Club Member, you choose to purchase the number of Vacation Points and the Home Resort that will fit your needs best and your total cost will depend on the price per point at the Resort you choose.  In addition to that initial purchase price, you'll also need to factor in closing costs and your Annual Dues.  After the purchase of your Points has been paid in full, the only ongoing cost of your Membership will be those Annual Dues.

Currently, Disney Cruise Line Guests who choose to become Disney Vacation Club Members onboard or shortly after returning home can also save an additional $1000 on the cost of Membership, on top of any other special offers (although that discount may be subject to change).  But to take advantage of this exclusive opportunity, Guests must complete a Resort sales tour (either in person, online, or over the phone) within 35 days of their embarkation date.  For more information about this exciting offer you'll need to call (800) 500-3990.  While I know that gifts or onboard credit are sometimes offered during your cruise for exploring Disney Vacation Club Membership, I'm not sure if those are still available once you return home.  Your best bet is to ask a Cast Member what benefits might be available to you on a future cruise when you call to learn more about Membership

Thanks for visiting planDisney, William.  If you think of any more questions about Disney Vacation Club Membership, I hope you'll stop by again –– I'm always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Amy
