Hello, Julie! I'm glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question. I've been an
Annual Passholder for years now and it was such a great decision. There are so many perks of the program that really do make it worth the initial investment.
Julie, since the reopening of Walt Disney World last year, the sale of new Annual Passes have been temporarily suspended. There have been no announcements made as to when it might open up again for the general public to purchase. However, I don't think the program is going anywhere. Currently, Guests with current Annual Passes that are about to expire are being allowed to renew at this time. Also, Guests who choose the refund option last year during the shutdown are also able to purchase a new Annual Pass on a case-by-case basis at this time. That's why I think it won't be long before the program opens back up for everyone to be able to purchase.
Until then, you have two options for theme park tickets. You can purchase a standard theme park ticket that allows entry into one Walt Disney World Theme Park per day or you can choose a park hopper option. The park hopper option allows you to enter multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks each day. Both ticket options are great, it really just depends on how you want to spend the day. On top of your tickets, I wanted to let you know that you'll also need to make
park pass reservations to the theme park you'd like to visit each day. You can view the
Walt Disney World availability calendar before purchasing your tickets to be sure there is availability on the dates you'd like to go. If there is and you've purchased your tickets, you'll then need to head over to the park pass reservation website to book. You'll choose your planning party, the date and the theme park you'd like to visit and if everything goes through okay you'll be taken to a confirmation page. From there, you should be able to see all of your itinerary on your MyDisneyExperience account.
Julie, I hope you are able to join the Annual Passholder family very soon. Keep an eye out over on the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcement that may come. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and
ask me.
