Hi Mindy!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Planning a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort makes me happy. Booking flights, however, is not my favorite part of the planning process.
If you are booking your flights online at the
Walt Disney World website, you simply need to go through the online booking process. We typically book a
Magic Your Way Vacation Package. I select our travel dates, the resort hotel, theme park tickets and we also get a
dining plan. When booking online, once you get to that final screen, you should also see a link to book a flight. If you click on that link, you should be able to select your flight dates and departure airport. Once you have entered the relevant information and searched for flights, the prices of possible flights will appear.
When we travel, we either book our flights through a travel agent or through a specific airline website because I prefer to have the flight information separate from our Magic Your Way Vacation package. I also prefer to spend a little more time checking for discounts on flights prior to the trip. Since we typically book our vacations a year in advance, my experience has been that we can get reasonably priced flights a few months prior to the trip.
Mindy, I suggest that you keep comparing the cost of airline tickets booked through the Walt Disney Travel Co., Inc. to the cost of airline tickets booked through the airline sites. You can also call 407-828-8101 to inquire. Be sure to also review the
terms and conditions of booking vacation packages!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
