Hi, Rochelle!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I know what it’s like to have a little one in search of a specific, beloved character souvenir!
I love strolling
The Disney Gallery to browse the breathtaking artwork. I suggest visiting the Disneyana shop, just adjacent to the gallery, which offers special merchandise, original and reproduction Disney art, and unique collectibles for purchase. I haven’t seen a Cast Member artist there in the recent past, however, so I think your best bet would be to visit
Off The Page in Disney California Adventure Park. Entering this colorful shop is like stepping into an animator’s studio come to life! You can watch in-house artists at work as they sketch some of Disney’s most beloved characters, and you may even have the opportunity to make a special request for an original piece (like your son’s favorite fairy!) to take home. Check with a Cast Member there upon your arrival for details and availability.
One more idea is to visit
WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District. Each month, a different local artist and their work is featured. Their individual style, technique and interpretation of Disney characters is celebrated through artist showcases and special signing events. I met my favorite artist there and purchase a signed copy of one of his prints. You can also search the gallery’s unique collection to find a print or another one-of-a-kind item that speaks to your son. I hope this helps, Rochelle, and that you find a piece of art for him to treasure on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
