Hola Sharon, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for your summer adventure at Walt Disney World.
It looks like your getaway to the lovely, lakeside oasis of
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is just around the corner. It's the perfect time to be thinking about those last-minute details like
dining and
transportation. Recently, I enjoyed a stay in the Gran Destino Tower, and it was just as grand as its name implies. My siestas were superior in the nicely appointed guest rooms. If you're staying in one of the other sections of the resort, all rooms have been refurbished and offer modern finishes and top-notch amenities.
One of my favorite aspects of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is its central location on Walt Disney World property and convenient bus transportation. You are correct; generally, the buses stop in the following order en route to the theme parks: Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas, and El Centro/Gran Destino Tower.
During my time at the Gran Destino Tower, we were the last Guests to be picked up (which meant as soon as we were underway we were headed directly to the theme parks!) and the last to be dropped off. If you prefer to board or disembark the bus at a specific time, you are welcome to walk to any bus stop you like. Some people in my family prefer to spend as little time as possible onboard a bus, so they'd be more likely to get on at the Gran Destino Tower, but exit at the Casitas. If you find yourself hungry or in need of an afternoon margarita after a day at the parks, hop off at El Centro and head to
Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago or
Rix Sports Bar & Grill. The tranquil walking paths and scenic bridge across the Lago Dorado make each stroll back to your room pleasant.
Sharon, I hope this is helpful as you count down the last few days until your magical vacation begins. Best wishes for a wonderful stay, and we'll see ya real soon!
