What is the correct gratuity for a buffet? My family will be eating dinner at the Cape May buffet at the Beachclub Resort on Monday and I'm never sure what to tip.

    Hi there, Adele!

Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney parks Moms Panel with your question today.  Get ready for some fabulous seafood at Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort!

The topic of gratuities is such a subjective one, and there is no right or wrong way to "tip."  Typically, folks leave less of a gratuity for a buffet.  However, there is still a lot of work the servers must do at a buffet.  For me, if the service is excellent, I will leave 15-20% for buffet service.  The service still includes a server clearing multiple plates, providing fresh silverware, napkins, drinks, etc.  Keep in mind that I am advising you based on what I typically do.  Some folks leave 10% at a buffet service restaurant.  I would suggest that you evaluate your service after your meal and decide what feels best to you.

I wish you a truly magical vacation!
