Hi Danielle,
Congratulations on signing up for the
runDisney Walt Disney World Disney Marathon! What an incredible mental and physical challenge you've taken on. Preparing for a marathon is no small...feet, and I wish you the best as you train for this unforgettable race. When it comes to runDisney events, though, it's all about the experience, so while your personal best is important, don't forget to take in the magic along the way!
As for where to stay, you really can’t go wrong with any
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, especially with the complimentary transportation to and from the race events. But I think
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort may be one of the best choices for your marathon weekend. Not only is it a beautiful property full of fantastic dining options, but it's also close to the EPCOT parking lot, where the start and finish lines are located, which makes those early morning wake-up calls a little easier to manage. After the race, you’ll also appreciate how quickly you can return to your room for a refreshing shower and breakfast before proudly wearing your race medal around the parks!
For pre-race carb loading, you’ll want to fuel up with some hearty options. I’d recommend
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in EPCOT for its incredible pasta and pizza, perfect for a carb-filled dinner. Another great choice is
Terralina Crafted Italian at Disney Springs. Both offer delicious meals that will help you prepare for the big day. Post-race, reward yourself with a refreshing DOLE Whip, a Mickey-shaped ice cream bar, or a Citron slush from
Les Vins des Chefs de France in EPCOT’s France Pavilion.
If you have any other questions or would like more recommendations,
drop me a line!
Good luck, Danielle, and enjoy every magical mile!
