Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Katy!
I’m so glad you stopped by with this question. My family considers
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort our “Disney home” and I am always happy to share some of my favorite things about this wonderful Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has a theme that evokes the Southwestern United States, Mexico, and in the new Gran Destino Tower, Spain. As you walk around the gorgeous grounds of this resort, the landscaping and buildings reflect a modern Mexican theme in the Casitas section, the architecture and plant life of the American southwest in the Ranchos section, and the tropical, palm tree-lined beaches of Mexico in the Cabanas section. In the center of the resort is the beautiful Lago Dorado, which peacefully reflects the resort's beauty. The Dig Site area is themed to Mayan ruins and the
Lost City of Cibola Pool features a pyramid, water slide, 22-person hot tub, and a great pool bar with lots of tropical drink options. There’s even the
La Vida Health Club spa on site if you’d really like to get into relaxation mode or squeeze in a workout.
Since this is your very first stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, I have a few tips for you so you can enjoy all the
magical benefits of staying on property. Be sure to let a resort Cast Member know this is your first visit (or, at least, your first on-property stay). They will be happy to share all their best tips for enjoying the resort. One of my favorite things about staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is searching for Hidden Mickeys – they are everywhere! Look around your room (look closely), in the dining locations, and the resort’s architecture. I’ve already seen so many in the design of the Gran Destino Tower, so be sure to explore there, too! It’s such fun!
Transportation from this resort hotel to the theme parks and Disney Springs is easy using
Walt Disney World Bus Transportation. Many Guests don’t realize just how close they are to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios when staying at this resort – it’s a huge bonus of staying here!
Katy, I could go on and on about Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I’ll leave you with a few of my favorite things: the pineapple margarita at
Maya Grill, the newly refurbished and spacious Guest rooms, and sunrise or sunset strolls around Lago Dorado. Be sure to read all the posts on the
Disney Parks Blog about the dining and amenities in the
newly-opened Gran Destino Tower. I think you’re going to love all the dining, amenities, and hospitality at this lovely resort hotel, and I hope it gives you all the magical, relaxing vacation feelings!
Wishing you a magical first stay,
Robyn
