Hello John!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for coming by with your question! This one is sure tricky as I have seen many different answers to this.
In the end, I want to make sure we refer to the
Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules. According to these rules, coolers with or without wheels, must not be larger than 24' long x 15" wide x 18" high. It also says in the rules that "any trailer-like object that is pushed, pulled or towed by an Electric Conveyance Vehicle, wheelchair, stroller or person" is prohibited. Depending on what your cooler looks like and its sizing it may or may not be allowed in the Parks. If it is a hard-sided cooler that has to be pulled and could be interpreted by
Security as a "trailer-like object" then it probably won't be allowed. A safe bet would be to bring a simpler soft-sided cooler that is within the size parameters that has the option to be carried instead of rolled. I would also consider instead a backpack cooler if you are looking for some more convenience.
Don't forget that loose ice is not allowed anymore. I now just freeze my water bottles and use them in my cooler to keep everything cold and have an icy beverage for the day. When I need to refill my water bottles I always just visit any
Quick Service location and ask for large cups of ice. Most times they can accommodate and sometimes I end up with a bunch of smaller cups but either way it's free!
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please
let me know!
Happy Planning!
