Can I take a cooler to the Polynesian pool?

Aloha, Christine, and welcome back to planDisney!

You're gearing up for a magical stay at my favorite tropical retreat, and I couldn't be more excited for you! With its laid-back island vibes and fun-filled Disney touches, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort calls me like the ocean calls Moana. And since it sounds like the (pool) water is calling to you, let's dive straight into your question!

Christine, there are LOTS of things to love about the Polynesian (the monorail, 'Ohana, and on-site DOLE Whip come to mind!), but for my family, one of the biggest draws is the pools. With three incredible pools to choose from, there's truly a pool for every mood! Whether the kids are getting their jiggles out at the Lava Pool splash pad or we're adventuring with Moana over at the Cove Pool, we always treasure the chance to relax, play, and enjoy some delicious food!

Now, no matter which Polynesian pool you choose, there's a pool bar, restaurant, or quick-service location nearby where you can order food and drinks. But there is another option, Christine! I checked in with a helpful Disney Cast Member, and I'm thrilled to tell you that you are welcome to bring a cooler to any of the Polynesian pools. You can fill these with your own snacks and drinks, but be sure not to pack any glass bottles or glass containers, as these are strictly prohibited in the pool area. In addition, remember that no food or drinks are allowed in the pool or on the pool deck.

Of course, I can't let you go without mentioning the incredible food at Wailulu Bar & Grill. This is probably my favorite place to eat at the Polynesian (especially the Crispy Chicken Wings and the Wayfinder Burger!). My family loves to grab a bite here before ending our night with the Happily Ever Fireworks, right from the beautiful Cove Pool.

I hope this information is helpful, Christine, and that you enjoy some well-earned pool time on your upcoming visit to Disney World. If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find me right here at planDisney!

    Malama pono,

    Allison
