I recently attended a preview event for Disney's
Cool KIDS' SUMMER, so I am pumped for all of the fun things you'll be able to experience in the theme parks! As you mentioned, Cool KIDS' Summer will also be at four Disney Resort hotels. This includes character visits, coloring spots, and potentially a Cool KIDS' SUMMER bag while supplies last. While
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is not one of the participating resort hotels, it is the sister resort hotel to
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. They are only a stroll or a short boat ride away from each other. I would take some time to visit Port Orleans - Riverside and see what you can take advantage of. Stop by the front desk and explain your situation to a Cast Member who will be able to detail what is being offered during your visit.
I truly believe you will love it at French Quarter! It just may be my favorite Disney Resort hotel! The theming is so charming, and the views are lovely.
Doubloon Lagoon pool is a big hit with its sea serpent slide, but you can also visit
Ol' Man Island pool at Riverside, since they are sister resorts. Definitely stop by
Scat Cat's Club - Cafe for some Mickey Beignets! There are plenty of perks to enjoy, including
Early Theme Park Entry and poolside activities. Be sure to check the
Resort Activities Schedule for experiences like crafts, movies, and trivia. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Take a relaxing boat ride down the Sassagoula River to
Disney Springs, where I could spend days shopping and snacking. While you're there, stop by
Gideon's Bakehouse for one of their famous cookies. There is often a line, and I think the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie is well worth the wait!
