Hi, Missy!
For one of the best locations on property in the Deluxe category, try
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This is one of my family's favorites. It is actually one of the most convenient locations for getting to the Magic Kingdom. You can take the boat from the dock right at the back of the resort, or you can take a bus. Once on the bus, it is less than a 5 minute bus ride to or from the Magic Kingdom. It is actually quicker to do this than taking the monorail from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian!
For all other theme parks, there is convenient bus service. Rarely will your Wilderness Lodge bus stop at any other resorts, except maybe mid-day during very slow times or super late at night when just the last few lingering guests are headed back to their resorts.
Without knowing your dates, I cannot look at rates, but you will find that Wilderness Lodge will be cheaper than any of the monorail resorts. If you want to save even more money than that, perhaps
Port Orleans French Quarter, a Moderate Resort, might suit your needs. There is only one bus stop at this resort, so once you hop on, you are off to your destination. Mid-day you might find the bus loops
Riverside, but most times of the day, you will be the one and only. On your way back to your resort, even if you share a bus with Riverside, the first stop will be at French Quarter so it wouldn't make a difference anyway. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly you will reach your destination from French Quarter.
I hope you find the perfect resort for your family's upcoming vacation!
Cathy
