Nate from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Where is the most convenient place to stay if our youngest needs to go back to the hotel to nap mid-day? Also, are the Fort Wilderness cabins good? I like the kitchenette but my spouse wants someplace with a pool. Not sure what’s best in October.

    Howdy Nate!

Welcome to planDisney!  I am super excited to see that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this October!  I have some exciting news about some of the festivities during your visit.  Thank you for sharing your question with us now. Let’s get to planning!

Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with little Mouseketeers is so much fun!  As you watch your little adventurer wave to Mickey and his pals, you feel like a kid again!  Your little Mouseketeer must get enough sleep to enjoy the adventure and not become miserable!  I love your idea of staying at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort!  This is a fabulous resort experience for little Mouseketeers and a short distance from the Magic Kingdom Park!  The cabins are perfect for a family to have some extra room, enjoy unique activities, and two picture-perfect pools!  Since October usually offers cooler evenings, you will love the movies under the stars and so much more!  I think you made a great choice by choosing The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and I know you will enjoy being a short boat ride away from the entrance to the Magic Kingdom Park!

You are visiting at the perfect time!  Since Mickey and his pals opened the Walt Disney World Resort to guests in October of 1971, this year will mark 50 years of “Making Dreams Come True!”  This 18-month celebration will be a once-in-a-lifetime event, and you will be arriving just in time to kick off the festivities!  Several announcements have been made about the 50th anniversary, and the one I am super excited about is the special fireworks display!  Disney Enchantment will be an immersive firework display that will extend from Cinderella Castle to Main Street, U.S.A.  To stay informed of all the announcements as they are released, go to “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” and “Sign Up!”

To stay up-to-date on everything to do and see at the Walt Disney World Resort, check out the Disney Parks Blog!  If you have any more questions as you continue to plan your unforgettable vacation, please come back to planDisney!  We are always here to help you with all your planning questions, Nate!

    See Ya Real Soon,
