Hey Howdy Hey Tracy and welcome to planDisney!
I love it when a plan comes together and with a stay at
Disney's Contemporary Resort with a character meal at
Disney's Riviera Resort, this sounds like an epic plan full of Magical memories! Thank you so much for your question on getting to your reservation as this can be a minor detail to get resolved. Let's review
Disney Resort Transportation offerings and I will give you a few tips on how to navigate over to the Riviera Resort.
One of the biggest benefits of staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort is the location. So close to everything that Magic Kingdom has to offer including resort transportation. The easiest path for you to take is to embark on the short walk from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom bus hub. From there catch a bus over to the Riviera and you are all set. The one big thing to keep an eye on is timing.
Disney resort transportation starts operations in the mornings 45 minutes before park opening times. Make sure to keep an eye out for
park hours as this will dictate when transportation starts. This also includes the
Early Theme Park Entry. With Early Theme Park Entry, Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can access the parks 30 minutes before the parks open to the general public. So if Magic Kingdom opened on the day you have your reservation at 8:30 a.m. EST, with Early Theme Park Entry Guests have access to the parks at 8:00 a.m. EST. Resort transpiration will begin at 7:15 a.m. which should be enough time to get to the Riviera in time for breakfast.
One big piece of the puzzle to keep an EAR out for is any word on
Disney Minnie Van Service. This ride-share option available through Lyft will let you ride in style with a personalized transportation option from the Contemporary directly to the Riviera. Disney has recently announced the return of the Minnie van transportation option later this summer, so keep an EAR on
Disney Parks Blog for any news on specific dates of return.
Of course, you also have various rideshare offerings from companies like Lyft and Uber that you can use as well. Those are more direct and can work out if the times just do not line up for resort transportation options.
I hope this information was helpful to give you a little more details and options for planning. Best of luck with your continued planning and if you have any further questions please feel free to let us know, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
