    Is Contemporary Resort and Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in walking distance of Magic Kingdom. If we took out resort shuttle to Magic Kindom? Does the resorts have a schedule of transpotation schedules and destinations? First time vistor to Disney.

    Wow, how excited you must be for your first Walt Disney World vacation! Sounds like you are getting the necessary details all ironed out. The Hotels that you are considering The Contemporary and the Grand Floridian as well as the Polynesian, are on the monorail line. If you are staying at either of these hotels you will want to hop on the monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. The monorail actually travels inside of the Contemporary! Disney Transportation (buses) are a great way to get around the property There are no actual schedules or specific times for any transportation. They usually run on general intervals, like every 20 minutes or so.  The buses run more frequently during park opening and closing hours.  As far as destinations go, you may catch Disney transportation  from all hotels to the theme parks, the water parks and Downtown Disney. The buses do not go from hotel to hotel. The Magic Kingdom is in walking distance from the Contemporary, many people take the short walk especially in the evenings rather than wait for transportation. A lot of info to take in. Keep asking the great questions and your planning efforts will fall right into place.
