Hiya, Wendi! Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such an oh-so-fun and special question!
I can't imagine a better way to celebrate a birthday than with a magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. The only thing better is celebrating
two special birthdays! I am so excited for both of you. And since you're staying at
Disney's Contemporary Resort (my very favorite Disney Resort hotel), your planning is off to an incredible start. Now, let's get to your question and get this planning party started!
Unfortunately, the Cast Members at the Contemporary or the other Disney Resorts Collection hotels are not available to decorate Guest rooms or doors. And in even less magical news, Guests are actually not allowed to decorate their doors at the Resorts. The doors are not magnetic, and anything used to decorate the door could damage it. But Hakuna Matata, Wendi! It means "no worries." The two of you can still have super special, pixie-dusted birthday celebrations!
I recommend checking out
In-Room Floral & Gifts. You can order balloons, flowers, gift baskets and more online to be delivered right to your Resort's front desk. Then, once you arrive, you can decorate your room to make the perfect pixie-dusted setting for your magical birthday celebration!
When you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, don't forget to pick up your complimentary birthday buttons from your Resort's front desk, any Guest Relations location or select retail locations in the theme parks. That way, every Cast Member and Guest will know that the two of you are celebrating your big days. It's so fun to hear "Happy birthday!" around every turn!
Wendi, did you know that you can order a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to be delivered to your table after your delicious birthday meal? When you make your dining reservation at a participating restaurant, you will be prompted to add either a dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate cake complete with chocolate Mickey ears. My family and I ordered a dark chocolate cake for my daughter's tenth birthday, and not only was it scrumptious, it made the sweetest memories.
I hope this helps, Wendi, and I hope you two have the most magical and memorable Sweet Sixteen and Big 5-0 celebration! Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you have along the way. You've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon,
Mandy
