Hiya, Arka!
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited to see that you are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort this summer. The countdown is on and I am sure that your Ohana is getting excited. You picked two incredible resorts to compare. Both Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort Resort and Disney's Contemporary Resort offers incredible views and are steps from Magic Kingdom Park. Talk about great reasons to call one of these spots your home away from home during your stay! So which resort is best for a family with a young child looking for epic fireworks displays?
Let's start with
Bay Lake Tower. This resort is a short walk from Magic Kingdom Park and has access to the monorail if you prefer not to walk. The theme park view rooms offer mesmerizing views of the park and of course, those spectacular fireworks. The biggest pros of this resort in comparison to the Contemporary are all rooms will have a microwave, the walking distance to Magic Kingdom is similar for all rooms at this resort, and you have access to two great pools! The biggest con of this location is all of the food and beverage options are located in the main tower of the Contemporary resort, so this can add quite a bit of extra walking to your visit if you plan on visiting merchandise shops and restaurants or using the monorail. That being said, my family and I loved staying at this resort on a recent visit. The vibe felt very welcoming and we found it to be peaceful and quiet.
Disney's Contemporary Resort is also a quick walk or monorail ride away from an epic Magic Kingdom day. The firework views are also fantastic. The biggest pros of this popular resort are the proximity to dining options, most rooms sleep five Guests, and the recently refurbished rooms are Incredible, pun intended. If your little one is a fan of The Incredibles they will be delighted with the newest changes. The con for this resort is the layout is larger, and a little more spread out, so your walk to Magic Kingdom could be just a little longer.
Arka, when it comes down to the final decision I think you will find these are both amazing options. The slightly longer walk from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom or heading to the main tower for dining from Bay Lake will cancel each other out if you're counting the steps. I think your choice in this situation can easily be based on room preference, as the nighttime views will not disappoint!
Before signing off, I want to add a quick reminder to make your
Disney Park Pass reservations before your arrival at The Most Magical Place on Earth. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to valid theme park tickets. If you do not have a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package or tickets yet, you can check the
reservation availability before purchasing. If you already have your park tickets, I recommend making your reservations as soon as possible. This is an incredible and popular year to visit, and some dates are booked well in advance. I would feel terrible if you are unable to visit our favorite parks during your visit. Don't delay, make your Park Pass reservations today!
I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
We'll see ya real soon!
