Hiya, Cynthia, and welcome to planDisney! It's wonderful that you're here with this great question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! You'll be arriving so soon, and you must be thrilled! Thank you for trusting us to be your go-to resource for vacation planning information and advice.
Cynthia, you'll be happy to know that you have a few options when it comes to getting from
Disney's Contemporary Resort to
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If you're using
complimentary Walt Disney World Resort transportation, you might choose the nostalgic and efficient
Monorail, which will make two stops before dropping you off at your destination. The Monorail runs right through the Contemporary (literally)!
You could also walk along the water's edge on the beautiful walking path. From your hotel, walk toward
Magic Kingdom Park, then follow the signs to the walkway. Another fun option would be to walk to Magic Kingdom Park, then take a boat to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While you'll pass through a security checkpoint, you will not actually enter the park.
If you would like to drive, you'll need to have an
Advance Dining Reservation at one of the restaurants at that hotel to park there. You could also use a ride-share service like a
Minnie Van, but again, you'd need a reservation to be granted entry.
While we're on the subject of transportation, something I haven't yet mentioned is the Disney
Skyliner. It won't be much help to you on this journey, but it's a delightful way to go from certain hotels to destinations like EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. You'll feel like Tarzan swinging through the trees! It's a great way to travel, especially when park hopping.
Any time you need to get from Point A to Point B, look no further than the Map feature of the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Simply locate your destination either on the map or by using the search function, and select "Get Directions." You'll be provided with step-by-step navigation and an estimated travel time.
Cynthia, I hope this is helpful to you as you count down the final hours to your arrival at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Please stop by planDisney with any other questions you have!
See ya real soon!
