We are contemplating visiting Disneyland in December next year, any suggestions on what we should do/not do to try and have the best experience while we're there? We've been to both Disneyland and Disney World, but never during such a peak season.

I have spent many of my birthdays at the Disneyland Resort. My birthday is in mid December. So I am uniquely qualified to answer this question. Let me begin by saying that the holidays are my favorite time to visit. Disneyland embodies all that is warm and magical about the holidays. Both the parks and the resorts are beautifully decorated and look particularly lovely this time of year. Disneyland also has some wonderful attractions that can only be found out here during the holidays. Starting with Haunted Mansion Holiday, where the entire attraction is re-themed with Jack Skellington and the Nightmare Before Christmas. I think it is the coolest thing ever. You must check out the one of a kind gingerbread cake in the ballroom scene. From there head on over to "it's a small world" Holiday, and embrace holiday festivities around the globe. You will rejoice that they have included some of your favorite holiday songs instead of just the one! Plus, I have never seen the attraction look so beautiful as it does during the holidays. As for crowds, as long as you arrive at the parks when they open you will have no trouble visiting any of the holiday attractions. I would suggest that you head over to Disney California Adventure as soon as possible in the day to get an opportunity to visit Cars Land and take a ride on the Radiator Springs Racers, which is the best ride ever! It appears that Cars Land is going to be very popular for a long time so an early start will give you the best opportunity to enjoy this ultimate Disney driving experience. I have many more great tips for you so make sure to ask away before you head on out here to the Happiest Place on Earth. I will see you at the parks.
