We are contemplating adding a park hopper to our two day trip. We have a one year old and I was just wondering how long it will take to hop between parks or if we could better maximize our time with just one park a day.

Hey, McKenzie and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Figuring out the best way to travel around Walt Disney World Resort is what Tiggers like me do best. Park hopping allows you to experience more magic in one day. Soar over London on Peter Pan's Flight at Magic Kingdom Park in the morning then go Soarin' over the World in the afternoon at Epcot. We typically choose one park a day with a multiple day trip and will park hop with a two-day or less trip if there is something we want to do in that other theme park and we have limited time. My co-panelist, Donyell, wrote about travel times and park hopping but these times change with crowd levels and time of day. The average time is around 50 minutes including waiting for the bus/boat/monorail. Please note that Disney recommends allowing 90 minutes when using Disney transportation.

Picking the best pair of theme parks is the most important decision. Which theme parks go together like Pumbaa and Timon? Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot. Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Why these pairings? I choose them because of the ease of travel between the theme parks, experiences for all ages, the number of attractions and the nighttime shows to help fill our day. For example, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park could each be done in about six to seven hours giving you a 12 to 14 hour theme park adventure. To maximize your time, please arrive at the first theme park 60 minutes before it officially opens.

Disney Dad Tip: The fastest route between theme parks is to take the concierge level Minnie Van Service.

McKenzie, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
