Hello Kathleen! Welcome to planDisney! A long weekend visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth sounds like a great mini-getaway!
I always recommend that a Guest planning a shorter visit should go about planning in the same manner as a Guest planning a longer visit. Start with your priorities! Is this getaway meant to be more relaxing by spending more time at the resort hotel with maybe a visit to one or two parks or is the goal to squeeze as much of the Disney Parks in as possible?
If your goal is to relax and visit a park or two then I strongly recommend booking a resort hotel that is conveniently connected to either the
Monorail or the
Disney Skyliner. The Monorail is connected to both Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT. While the Disney Skyliner is connected to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. These two transportation systems will allow you to maximize the time spent at your resort hotel and the parks.
The resort hotels connected to the Monorail include Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The hotels connected to the Disney Skyliner are Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! My favorite two being
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and
Disney’s Riviera Resort! Not only are these resorts both beautiful and relaxing, but the dining options are also some of the best in the entire Walt Disney World Resort! Honorable mentions go to both Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort!
Kathleen, you can feel free to send planDisney a few more questions as you continue your planning. You are also welcome to call a friendly Cast Member at (407)-939-5277. They will certainly be able to assist you with booking your reservation. You can also book your reservation online by visiting the Walt Disney World Resort website. I recommend beginning at the tab that states, “
Places to Stay.”
