Welcome to planDisney, Zakeesh. Thank you for sailing to us with your question as you prepare for your Disney Cruise!
It's about time for you to cast off for adventure, so let's not delay! I checked in with an agent at Disney Cruise Line and was told that all alcoholic beverage purchases onboard the ship are to be made with a Key To The World card. All purchases made with your Key To The World card will be charged to the onboard account and as such, will be able to be viewed by your father if you are sharing an onboard account. I'm sorry if that's not the news you were hoping to hear. I was told that the
nightclubs and lounges onboard do not have cash registers and are not equipped for credit card purchases.
If you decide to do some shopping in any of the
Onboard Merchandise Shops, Credit Cards, contactless forms of payment, and Disney Gift Cards are acceptable forms of payment. If you were to pay with one of these forms of payment in the merchandise shop, it would not be listed in the onboard account.
It sounds like the best option for you might be to enjoy an alcoholic beverage off the ship while visiting a port of call along your itinerary. As you
pack up your bags, you might want to take a moment to review the ports of call and search for a local spot to enjoy a drink when on land.
I'm wishing you a wonderful sailing! Enjoy the time as a family and please sail back to planDisney if we can assist you in the future. My pals and I love to help however we can.
Bon Voyage!
