Hi, Richard! Welcome to planDisney.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is such a special place. It's classic Disney elegance meets that cozy, Victorian charm. If you get a chance whilst you’re there, definitely swing by the
Enchanted Rose Lounge. It’s a gorgeous little spot inspired by Beauty and the Beast, where you can relax with a really tasty cocktail. It's perfect for unwinding after a busy day in the parks or a fun day of swimming!
As for your question about construction over Thanksgiving week, the resort is still going through some updates that started back in April and will continue throughout the year, including late November. You’ll probably see some construction walls and detours around parts of the lobby and convention center during the day. Disney’s doing their best to keep things running smoothly, and thankfully, all the pools, restaurants, and other amenities will still be open. One thing to keep in mind is that the famous gingerbread house won’t be up for the 2025 holiday season because of the renovations, which is a bummer, but hopefully it’ll be back in all its glory next year!
Since you’re visiting over Thanksgiving, here’s a little tip: it’s one of the busier times of the year, so try to grab your dining reservations as soon as you can. Also, take advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry and
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours so you can beat some of the crowds. And don’t forget to check out all the festive decorations and seasonal treats. They really make the holiday feel extra magical.
