We are considering the Wilderness Lodge. We have 2 young kids. What are the approximate bus and boat travel times to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios? How often do they run? And is it a far walk from the resort to the bus depot and boat dock?

    Hi Donna!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

I am sure you will love staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge - it is my favourite resort - and there is so much there for adults and families alike.  In particular I think your children will love the pool area, the beach, and the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

The walk from the lobby to the bus stops and boat dock is less than a five-minute stroll.

If you take the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom (another feature your children will enjoy) - this will take less than 10 minutes.  It's a really fun way to arrive at the Magic Kingdom - my family loves this little trip!

The buses arrive approximately every 20 minutes.  It is recommended that you allow 60 minutes (from your resort room, including walking time to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, and the journey itself) when travelling to a theme park.  I can say that I have never experienced a journey that took 60 minutes from Wilderness Lodge, but we have to be prepared that it could take that long.

If you have any other questions about Wilderness Lodge, or other planning questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
