Hi Lauren,
I love the
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! My family often chooses this resort for our stays at Walt Disney World, and I have also stayed in a cabin with only adults for a weekend with friends. This resort is relaxing and offers such a laid-back place to land on vacation. With your friends, I can imagine evenings spent hanging out on the porch of your cabin, or heading to
Crockett's Tavern for some snacks and a pleasant evening on the wide, expansive porch there.
Disney's Fort Wilderness is large, and as such, it does have an internal bus system. I have always found this internal bus system easy to use. There is a map at each bus stop showing which bus you will need to get on to get to any particular location within the resort. There are three bus lines - yellow, orange, and purple, and you can follow the maps to see which you need. You can get where you are going within the resort using one bus. If you are heading out of the resort and to a theme park or other destination, you will need to get off of the internal bus and transfer to either another bus or boat, but that would be the only switching that you need to do.
My advice is to always give yourself plenty of time to get where you are going, and then relax and enjoy the ride!
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Lauren. Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
