We are considering a visit to the Disney World resort next year. Are there certain times of the year that are slower than others? If so, please share. I would like to plan our visit during one of the slower seasons.

    Hi, Jacelyn!

I’m so happy to hear you’re thinking of planning a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort for your family.
In my experience, the best strategy when deciding when to visit the resort is to avoid times when the parks are traditionally the busiest—in the summer (from late June until Labor Day), during the winter holidays (beginning mid-December and ending the first week of January), when schools are on spring break, and during three-day holiday weekends or special event dates throughout the year.

The second week of January through mid-February is one of the best times to visit. Crowds tend to be lighter (especially on weekdays), hotel prices are generally lower, and the Orlando weather is typically mild that time of year with high temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. Other good options are April (excluding spring break) through the week before Memorial Day, or September (after Labor Day) through mid-October. However, do keep in mind that park hours can be shorter than during peak seasons, and there are sometimes more attraction closures when the parks aren’t as busy. It’s a great idea to check out the park hours and schedule before arriving so you can plan your days accordingly.

I hope this helps, Jacelyn. Please visit me again with more questions as your pixie-dusted planning continues!

    Wishing you magic,
