Considering a trip with an 8 year old & a 4 year old. We probably will have 2-3 full days in the parks. hey would both love Animal Kingdom. Not sure how they would like the rides. Trying to decide if it is worth getting a hopper pass?

    Hi Kelly,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to plan a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with an 8-year old and a 4-year old!

Since we have done the parks with and without park hopper, I do have some perspective. Given the ages of your little ones, I would not suggest it. Although we had park hopper tickets when the girls were younger, it was such a struggle to get them from one park to the next. We typically just spent the day in one park then had dinner in another park, but we rarely had time to enjoy any attractions at the second park after dinner because the girls still went to bed fairly early. So, we stopped purchasing park hopper.

If you do purchase park hopper, here are my suggestions. Visit one park very early and leave by early afternoon. Take a break/nap at the resort hotel, then head to park number two by 4:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. Use Fast Pass+ to maximize your time in each park. Make your first three Fast Pass+ selections for park number one, then, once those are completed, make an additional Fast Pass+ for park number two.

We all adore Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. Be sure to take an expedition on Pandora - The World of Avatar. Check the height requirements of the attractions you wish to experience before you make any Fast Pass+ selections. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, try Na'vi River Journey, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris and The Festival of the Lion King.

Kelly, as we say on Pandora - Sivako! Rise to the Challenge!
