We are considering a trip to WDW in January and want to stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. What can we expect from the weather at that time of year? Will there be activities such as the campfires each night and outdoor movies?

    Hi Tara,

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are so much fun!  That's a really great choice; all the comforts of home, but nature and Disney all around...that's a winning combination for me:)

The temperature in January is terrific, at least in my opinion.  I love going to Disney in chilly weather.  The average high temperature is 72 degrees while the low temperature is about 50 degrees.  I'm a Florida resident and live close to Disney World.  There have been times that I've been to Disney in the Winter and the low at night has bottomed out in the 30s.  When you're packing, please make sure that you bring long pants and shirts with long sleeves.  A jacket wouldn't be bad either.  If you want to wait until you get there, you can buy the cutest sweaters and hats on the planet to wear.  I've done that a few times too!

As for activities at that time, they are pretty much the same as in any other season.  You'll still have campfires, movies and a lot of other wonderful things to choose from.

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel, Tara.  Have a magical day!
