We are considering a trip to WDW in December. I, personally, would love to stay at Fort Wilderness; however, we have one dog who gets agitated by fireworks. How well can you hear the fireworks from MK in the pet loops? Is the sound faint? Or loud?

Hi Marsha! Bringing your pet with you on vacation is a real perk and Disney allows that when you stay in a recreational vehicle  in a campsite at the Fort Wilderness Campground Resort.

There is not a complete answer to your question as it truly depends on the weather. If the winds are blowing in the direction of the resort from the Magic Kingdom then you will hear the nightly fireworks shows much more then usual. Then on other nights when there might not be any wind or it is blowing in a different direction you can only hear an occasional boom but it isn't too loud.

If your RV is well insulated it helps keeping the noise from being heard loudly inside. The fireworks are also one of the reasons that tent campers are not allowed to bring pets. You can only imagine the chorus of barking that would go on due to outside stimuli to the animals.

When we leave our two "boys" in the motor coach we leave the television on to have some background noise for them. That way if someone or something outside is making loud noises it won't distract them as easily. Check the daily and weekly schedules for the Magic Kingdom fireworks and perhaps plan on being home for the first evening to see if the noise is too much at your site.
