Considering tenting at Fort Wilderness for our next Disney Vacation :) Is there a tent size limit, we have a large family tent, how soon in advance can you book the site? Can I purchase any type of a package deal for tickets, etc?

Hi Amanda! Tenting at Fort Wilderness can be so much fun. It is now one of my favorite places to be while on a Disney vacation.

The sties can handle large tents as well as more then one tent. You will have water and power and even cable service at each location. There are a few different loops that are for the tents so you can even request a specific one if you wish to do that. You can book any site at Fort Wilderness just like you can book a resort room so as soon as you know the dates get on the phone and get it booked. Especially for the holidays as Fort Wilderness is a popular place. We waited too long and tried getting a reservation for Thanksgiving of this year right after Christmas and we had no luck. If you find a date filled just keep trying to call back to see if anything has opened up.

You can book a package on the website for Fort Wilderness just as you would a resort room. It will ask if you are wishing for a cabin or a tent/rv site. You can include the Magical Express even. Although you will be in a tent you will still get a "room" key that allows you entrance into the resort area and allows you to charge to your site during your stay. There is nothing different except you have chosen to bring your walls with you and just using the Disney floor! Have fun!
