I am considering taking my mentally challenged sister (mentally age 3-10) to Disney World for her birthday on Jan 4 so not a lot of time to plan. Our father died this last year and they were close so trying to make this birthday special. any suggestions?

    Hi Aynn!

I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing.  I hope that you girls have a fabulous vacation together as you celebrate your sister's birthday!  Here are a few things you can do to make your sister's birthday extra special:

If staying on property, make sure you note your sister's birthday in your hotel reservation.  Also note her birthday in any dining reservations you've made as well.

Pick up a Birthday Button for your sister to wear while on vacation.  You can find them at check-in at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel, or at Guest Services in the parks.  This will let everyone know that it's her birthday.

If she has favorite characters, make sure you book some Character Dining while you're there.  Some of our favorites are Chef Mickey's, The Garden Grill, and The Crystal Palace.

If your sister is looking for a fun and fabulous hairstyle, head over to Harmony Barber Shop!  They can do some fun things while you are there, such as colored gel and pixie dust!

If you'd like to order special birthday cake, you can do so by calling the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253, they can make some pretty amazing cakes that are fabulously fun!

Since this vacation will be very much about celebrating her, make sure to enjoy the small moments.  I hope you enjoy each and every one!

    Have a magical vacation!
