We are considering staying in a value family suite with DS 8,7,5 & DD's 2. We are coming next year when its possible the DD plan could be offered free but only the quick service there. Is it possible we can upgrade it to regular? About how much $?

    Hi Alexis!

You know your stuff- I can tell that you have been doing your research!  You have absolutely nothing to lose by booking early.  In fact, I would absolutely book that family suite now, because you can always take advantage of any discounts or promotions that you qualify in the future.  For example, let's say you reserve an awesome family suite and then several months from now, you hear about Free Dining during your dates.  You will simply call 1-407-W-DISNEY and if you qualify, they will adjust your reservation.  I've even seen people receive money back if they have already paid in full!

Just as you were guessing, you may absolutely upgrade from Quick Service Dining (free or not) to the Basic Dining Plan.  While it is difficult to say exactly how much the cost to upgrade will be, I can tell you a ballpark figure.  You should be happy to know that the cost between the two plans is generally just about $10 per guest per night.  Not bad at all!  I'd love to hear from you again - have a fabulous vacation!
