Hi Karen!
I think that the Caribbean Beach Resort will be perfect for the teen and tween in your group! Are they still into (or were they ever?) into pirates? If so, the new Pirates of the Caribbean themed rooms are some of the coolest on property; however, they are also the farthest from the food court and main pool. Speaking of pools, this resort has my favorite pool on Disney property and it screams FUN!!!
If you check out the
Accommodations link on
www.AllEars.net and then scroll down until you can select
Photos-Text Links under
Caribbean Beach. Once you get to the photo links page, simply select
Resort Map and VOILA! a map of the entire resort will be right at your fingertips! If you want to splurge a little and request a Preferred room, you will be placed in the villages of Trinidad North or Martinique. Just across the lake, the closest standard rooms are in Aruba and Jamaica. The pirate rooms that I mentioned earlier are located in Trinidad South, which is quite a hike from all of the action. However, all of the villages have their own pool and an internal bus is available to take you from your village to Old Port Royale, the center of all the fun!
Your kiddos could probably spend an entire day swimming in one of the nine, yes nine, heated pools located at this hotel. Or, they could play on the beaches, ride bikes, take a pirate cruise, rent a boat, play volleyball or hit the arcade! If this sounds like the resort for you, simply let your Disney reservationist know which village that you would prefer. They can't guarantee requests, but they will do their best to accommodate them. Have a great time!
Much pixie dust,
Jackie S.
