Welcome back to
planDisney, fellow Pennsylvanian Melissa!
Oh, a grandmother/granddaughter trip to
Walt Disney World sounds absolutely spectacular! I know that both of my children cherish every memory made while touring with any of their grandparents. Your granddaughters will never forget this!
I've traveled to Walt Disney World with both of my children solo--or even gone on more thrilling attractions with both when their dad wasn't quite up for the challenge. ( :-) ) As such, I completely understand your thinking through the logistics of being one adult with two smaller children on some of these fantastic attractions.
You'll be relieved to know that both
Slinky Dog Dash and
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train feature a lap bar that will ensure that your older granddaughter will be completely secure as the three of you enjoy your ride. When the three of us hopped onto many attractions together, I liked to have the older, solo rider in front of me, so that I could see her, reach her, and lean up to talk to her, if needed. As you board both of these attractions, just ask the Cast Member who is assigning your seats to keep the three of you in the same car. This will ensure that you can reach over the top to reassure her (or yourself) if needed.
Some other attractions will enable you to have both girls right by your side at all times, so rest assured that everyone will have so much fun as the three of you tour together. What a trip this will be!
In order to capture the fun for the future, consider purchasing
Memory Maker - A Disney PhotoPass Product prior to your arrival (giving you a great pre-arrival discount). You'll be able to take so many photos with iconic Walt Disney World scenery behind you, and you can almost instantly share the fun with family and friends using the
My Disney Experience mobile app. You're bound to get countless pics you'll treasure for years to come.
As you plan this Girls' Trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Melissa, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
